Site Maintenance Services in Oneida County & Central New York

One Contractor. One Contract. Year-Round Property Coverage.

Managing a commercial or municipal property means keeping up with snow, site conditions, drainage systems, grounds, and infrastructure year-round. Instead of hiring a different contractor for every seasonal need, work with one experienced crew that handles all of it. We provide recurring maintenance contracts for snow removal, commercial mowing, landfill maintenance, drainage system upkeep, utility repairs, and general site maintenance for commercial, municipal, and industrial properties across Central New York.

Our Maintenance Services

We provide a full range of site and property maintenance services under one contract. Each service below can be included individually or combined into a comprehensive maintenance agreement.

Commercial snow plowing, parking lot clearing, sidewalk snow removal, salting, sanding, and ice management. Central New York averages over 100 inches of snow per year, and commercial property owners are legally responsible for maintaining safe conditions on their premises. We provide 24-hour snow response with the heavy equipment to handle large lots, access roads, and municipal properties. Seasonal contracts and per-event service available.

Heavy-duty mowing for commercial properties, industrial sites, municipal parcels, and large open areas. This is not residential lawn care. We mow retention areas, highway shoulders, vacant lots, facility perimeters, and overgrown sites using commercial-grade equipment. Scheduled weekly, biweekly, or on-demand depending on your property’s needs.

Landfill maintenance is our best-selling service and a specialty that no other local excavation contractor offers. We provide recurring landfill maintenance contracts for cell construction support, cap maintenance, cover soil placement, leachate system support, methane system support, access road upkeep, and post-closure monitoring earthwork. Our owner managed his first landfill project in 1994 and has overseen landfill work continuously for over 30 years.

French drains, catch basins, culverts, retention basins, and stormwater conveyance systems all require periodic maintenance to function properly. We clean out catch basins, flush drainage lines, repair damaged pipe sections, regrade swales, and restore detention basins that have silted in. Neglected drainage infrastructure is one of the most common causes of property flooding and pavement failure on commercial sites. Scheduled maintenance prevents the small problems that turn into expensive repairs and code violations.

Gravel road and parking lot regrading, pothole repair, curb and gutter maintenance, utility repairs, tree removal and trimming, erosion repair, and general site upkeep. We serve as the single point of contact for all site maintenance needs, so you are not calling three different contractors for three different problems.

Maintenance Services for Commercial and Municipal Properties

Maintenance work is different from project work. A construction project has a start date and an end date. Maintenance is ongoing. It requires a contractor who shows up reliably, understands your property, and handles seasonal demands without being managed through every task. That is what we provide.

Hale Excavation is a veteran-owned, licensed, and insured site maintenance contractor with over 35 years of construction experience. We offer recurring maintenance contracts tailored to your property’s needs, whether that means weekly mowing in the summer, 24-hour snow response in the winter, or quarterly drainage and site inspections year-round. We serve commercial property owners, property management firms, municipalities, industrial facilities, and site management companies throughout Oneida County, Herkimer County, Madison County, and surrounding communities. From small commercial lots in Utica to large municipal facilities in Rome and Herkimer, we scale our service to match the property.

We bring the same equipment, experience, and professionalism to maintenance that we bring to large construction projects. The difference is that we are here every season, not just for one job. Free consultations on maintenance contracts for any commercial, municipal, or industrial property.

Why a Maintenance Contract Matters

It Reduces Your Liability Exposure

In New York, property owners are legally responsible for maintaining safe conditions on their premises, including snow and ice removal. The CDC reports that approximately 1 in 3 outdoor fall-related emergency department visits during winter are linked to slips on ice, snow, or wet surfaces. A documented maintenance contract with a licensed contractor demonstrates due diligence and helps protect you if an incident occurs.

It Makes Costs Predictable

Emergency calls and reactive repairs always cost more than planned maintenance. A recurring contract locks in scheduled service, gives you a predictable budget line item, and eliminates the rush to find a contractor when something breaks. You know who is coming, when they are coming, and what it costs.

It Keeps Your Property in Working Order

Deferred maintenance compounds. A clogged catch basin becomes a flooded parking lot. A neglected gravel road becomes a liability. An unmowed retention area triggers a code violation. Scheduled maintenance catches problems early and keeps the property functional, safe, and compliant year-round.

It Simplifies Your Vendor Management

Instead of coordinating separate contractors for snow, mowing, drainage, tree work, and site repairs, one contract covers all of it. One phone number, one crew that knows your property, and one invoice. We handle everything so you can focus on running your business or facility.

Serving Central New York and the Mohawk Valley

From Utica and Rome through the Mohawk Valley, north into Lewis County, west across Onondaga, south into Chenango and Cortland — we work the full Central New York region. Our home base is Sauquoit, and our standard service radius is one to two hours from Utica. For the right project, we travel further.

What types of properties do you maintain?

We maintain commercial properties, municipal facilities, industrial sites, landfills, large residential developments, and vacant parcels. Our clients include property owners, property managers, municipalities, and site management firms.

Both. We offer seasonal contracts (winter snow removal, summer mowing) and year-round comprehensive maintenance agreements that cover all site needs across every season. We tailor the scope to your property and budget.

It depends on your property. A typical commercial contract includes snow removal, mowing, drainage system maintenance, gravel road upkeep, and on-call site repairs. Landfill contracts include cover soil, cap maintenance, leachate and methane support, and access road work. We build each contract around the specific needs of the property.

We provide 24-hour snow response. For contracted properties, we monitor weather forecasts and deploy equipment proactively. Our goal is to keep your lot and walkways clear and safe throughout every storm and during the cleanup afterward.

Call us at (315) 982-3673 or contact us online. We visit your property, evaluate the scope of maintenance needed, and provide a written proposal covering services, schedule, and pricing.
