Excavation Services in Dolgeville, Herkimer County
Dolgeville is a rural community at the northern edge of our Herkimer County service area. The village sits along East Canada Creek with surrounding hills, wooded parcels, and agricultural land stretching into the Adirondack foothills. Properties here are larger, more remote, and entirely dependent on private infrastructure. From our Sauquoit base, we reach Dolgeville in approximately 35 minutes.
Hale Excavation is a veteran-owned, licensed, and insured contractor with over 35 years of construction experience. Rural Herkimer County has very few excavation contractors, and homeowners in the Dolgeville area often struggle to find responsive service. We bring full excavation capability to Dolgeville with the same equipment and standards we use on projects closer to our base.
We serve homeowners, landowners, farmers, and builders throughout the Village of Dolgeville and the surrounding towns of Manheim and Salisbury. Free estimates, free second opinions, and free consultations.
Why Dolgeville Properties Need Experienced Excavation
Every Property Depends on Private Septic and Wells
With no municipal sewer or water, every residential property relies on private systems. When septic fails, there is no backup. Responsive installation, proper system selection for the soil, and reliable emergency repair are essential services.
East Canada Creek and Hilly Terrain Create Drainage Challenges
Properties near the creek and in lower elevations face high water tables and seasonal moisture. Hillside properties deal with runoff flowing toward foundations. Both conditions require drainage systems designed for the terrain.
Limited Local Excavation Options
Northern Herkimer County has very few excavation contractors. Dolgeville property owners often wait weeks for estimates from distant companies. We provide responsive service with the same turnaround we offer closer to our base.
Wooded Lots Require Full Clearing for Construction
Most buildable land is heavily forested. New homes, garages, and agricultural buildings require clearing the building footprint, driveway route, and septic area before any construction begins.

- Sauquoit, NY · Oneida County
Eric founds Hale Excavation LLC — bringing 35 years of experience home to Central New York. From here we serve Oneida County, the Mohawk Valley, Herkimer, Madison, and surrounding counties. The scale is more personal now. The standards, work ethic, and project management discipline are exactly the same.
Projects listed above were completed under previous employers. They represent Eric Hale’s personal project resume and experience. Hale Excavation LLC was founded in November 2025.
